About MGCCPE
The club was founded by a small group of MG enthusiasts in 1976 although the first get-together in Port Elizabeth took place as early as 1973. For the first three years of the club’s existence it was a satellite of the Cape Town Centre which is a branch of MGCC of South Africa which in turn is affiliated to the MG Car Club (UK).
One of our objectives is to assist in the acquisition, preservation and maintenance of MG Cars.
We focus primarily on the social aspect of club events and hence encourage wives/partners/families to participate in club events with the MG car as a commonality.
Our monthly Natter and Noggin takes place at the EPVCC club house in Cunningham Street on the first Wednesday of every month in the evening.
Over and above the noggin, we arrange monthly events for our members which is normally an out drive on the roads in and around our city. This is normally concluded by a meal at an agreed venue.
The MG marque in South Africa has a biennial National get-together known as the National Indaba. The club also participates in regional events, one of them being the Cape Centres gathering.
